What is the ECO4 grant?

The UK Government has the goal of reducing energy bills and keeping homes warmer in England and Wales.

The goal of the government program "ECO4" is to combat fuel poverty while simultaneously assisting those who are most in need in paying their energy bills and staying warm in their homes.

For households that qualify, this up the possibility of fitting out an entire building with a number of energy-saving technologies, such as boiler upgrades, smart programmers and improved insulation.

Who can apply for the ECO4 grant?

If you, or a household member claim certain benefits, including:

  • you own your home or rent from a private landlord

  • your boiler is older than 15 years (if you have an existing boiler)

  • or your home has no gas central heating (for example, no radiators)

  • or your gas supply is fuelling a gas oven or a gas fire only.

  • or your home has electric room heaters or electric storage heaters only

Boiler and full central heating grants

If there is gas available on the street of the property, applicants may apply for any of the following:

  • Installation of more efficient boiler

  • Installation of new boiler, radiators, programmer and pipework

  • Installation of improved insulation (loft, walls and underfloor)

Electric heating and heat pump grants

If there is no gas available on the street of the property, applicants may apply for the following:

  • Installation of more efficient electric storage heaters

  • Installation of improved insulation (loft, walls and underfloor)

  • Installation of configuration of airsource heat pumps (may require contribution from applicant)
